Parking: There is no charge to park in the Zoo parking lots. Some limited street parking is allowed on Sunnyside Avenue. Note: Availability and parking in close proximity cannot be guaranteed and the Zoo is not responsible for any damage that may occur to your vehicle.

Conduct of Event: You agree to conduct an event that is sensitive and appropriate to the surrounding environment. You assume full responsibility for the conduct of anyone associated with your event during the time they are under your control; these include guests, children, invitees, employees, or independent contractors employed by client. Furthermore, you must conduct the event in an orderly manner in full compliance of all applicable laws, codes, and rules and regulations set forth by Utah’s Hogle Zoo.

Public Zoo Hours: November 1 – February 28, 9am-4pm, March 1 – October 31, 9am-5pm (Grounds and buildings close approximately one hour after gates close). The Zoo is closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Admission Tickets: The cost for Zoo admission changes depending on the time of year.  Please check here for admission prices. The signed contract and deposit must be received before admission tickets will be issued. Admission tickets will be printed and, in most cases, mailed by the Zoo prior to your event. Only Zoo-printed tickets will be accepted at the gate. Ticket quantities are determined by the client. A request must be phoned in, faxed in, mailed or e-mailed to our office four (4) weeks prior to your event. It is your responsibility to see that your guests receive their tickets prior to entering the admission gate. The Zoo is not responsible for guests without tickets and cannot hold tickets in will-call unless other arrangements have been made. Admission tickets for private events are required. Hogle Zoo memberships may not be used for admission to private parties and events.

Inclement Weather Policy: The Zoo is open every day of the year, except Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, regardless of the weather. Due to high demand for reserved space at Utah’s Hogle Zoo, we are unable to schedule advance inclement weather reservations. In the event of inclement weather, tickets issued to you can still be redeemed at the Zoo admissions gate on the day of your event. These tickets will be billed to your designated organization according to the original contract. If applicable, the Zoo reserves the right to move any scheduled outdoor event to an indoor facility based on current or forecasted weather conditions, and the number of guests expected for the event.

Menus & Guarantee: Your final menu selection must be received (20) days prior to your event. Your minimum guaranteed attendance must be received (7) business days prior to your event. If attendance falls below the guaranteed number, the group will be charged for the guaranteed number on all food and beverage. If count increases less than 72 hours before the event date you may incur a cost of $7 additional per meal. Additional changes to the Event Order (EO) or contract within seventy-two (72) hours of your event are subject to an additional service fee. An additional fee of $50 for labor will apply for groups under 35. Service is for 1.5 hours. Biodegradable service-ware. Food and beverage service charge is 18%.

Entertainment/Event Rentals: Any live entertainment at the Zoo you are planning to incorporate into your event (bands, disc jockeys, mascots, performers, clowns, face painters, Photo booths, decor companies etc) must be pre-approved for inclusion. The Zoo does have preferred vendors with insurance already on file but outside venders may be required to sign an Outside Vendor Contract.

Music and Entertainment: A Catering Sales Manager must be informed of all entertainment 14 days in advance of event date. A representative for any entertainment company hired by group must contact the Sales Manager at least 14 days prior to event date to review their electrical, lighting, and any other requirements.

AV: Basic A/V, including microphone, screen and projector in most indoor spaces

Decorations: Glass, balloons, straws, stickers, confetti, Frisbees, and anything else that can harm or injure the animals or other guests are strictly prohibited anywhere on Zoo grounds.

Deposit: 50% is due upon signing the contract and the remaining balance is due 7 days prior to the event.

Tax-Exempt Status: If you are a tax-exempt organization, you must provide a copy of your tax exempt letter or certification with the contract. If proof of exemption is not provided with the signed contract, the booking organization becomes subject to any applicable tax(es).

Signing the Contract: A completed and signed contract must be returned to Utah’s Hogle Zoo upon reservation with all appropriate deposit fees in order to reserve and confirm the date of your event.

Cancelation Policy: If the event cancels within 60 days of the event, 50% of the contract is due, within 30 days all pending balance is due- food and beverage and rental. All deposits paid in advance are nonrefundable.

Security: The Hogle Zee security personnel will be on-site during events and is provided at no extra cost. For liability/security reasons, All items must be removed at the conclusion of the event.
